Tia Mavi is an experienced Italian-Venezuelan journalist, who owns one of the first posada in Los Roques. She is a kind, respectful, educated and lovable woman. Her hobbies are writing and cooking. She loves Venezuela, enjoys its landscapes, people and beaches. Also, she has studied very much about Los Roques' history. She would be delighted to show you her books about it. Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 


Tia Mavi is a conservationist and has always been ecologically minded. She makes fertilizer with leaves, egg shells and coffee. She mixes it all in a plastic bowl and leaves it until she needs it to grow a plant. You can note her beautiful plants in and around the posada. She has installed a rain water tank and energy saving-bulbs, this water is used for cleaning bathrooms, floors and sheets. She classifies garbage in: glass, plastic and organic trash in order to help the urban trash collecting service and recycles everything she can. Additionally, she talks to guests about taking care of the fauna, Los Roques´ history and not accepting lobsters or Botuto (Caribbean mollusc) in the off season. Finally, she does everything she can to save water and electricity.
