Virgen del Valle Celebration

Nuestra Sra. del Valle is venerated with special devotion on the island of Margarita and Los Roques Archipelago. According to our religion, Nuestra Sra. del Valle is also known as the patron of sailors, and people always invoke her blessing before sailing or launching the net when they are fishing.

The festivities last from September 1st to September 15th. During this celebration, the Virgin wears a beautiful dress designed with fabrics provided by her devotees. People also pray rosaries and decorate El Gran Roque with flowers and candles during the ceremony.
